About
Kelly Erasmus
Hi, I am a Paediatric Occupational Therapist with over a decade of experience in the field of Early Intervention. I am dedicated to ensuring that each and every child has the opportunity to reach their own potential in all aspects of life: home, school, extra-curricular, relationships, just to name a few.
I started practicing in South Africa after completing my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Intervention. I then brought my skills over the ocean to Canada and have been working in the school environment since then. I love seeing children grow and flourish as they learn to stretch through their limitations and surprise even themselves.
I pride myself on utilising a play-based capacity-building model where children and their caregivers can learn to enjoy therapy and have the chance to practice the skills when the OT is not there.

My family and I live in rural Northern Alberta and have grown to love the small-town feeling. We are avid campers and regularly find ourselves exploring back roads and new campgrounds. We are raising two fiercely independent children who love the outdoors and getting creative and messy.

Before working towards my Master's Degree, I was involved in pediatric care at the hospital level. I began to feel defeated as I noticed that many of the difficulties children were facing could have been mitigated or even prevented, had the child received early intervention care. My passion developed and my background definitely influences my style: BUILD CAPACITY. It is not fair to continue to provide therapy sessions without properly educating the caregivers and providing them with real-life tools to use when the therapist is no longer in the room.
